My Future Classroom
ICT and the incorporation of technology across all curriculum areas can have significant impact on student achievement and participation levels. Integrating technology in the classroom in many facets is something I feel very strongly about and has the potential to enhance activities keeping students motivated and engaged. Outside of school, various technologies are used within student households for multiple purposes; writing, reading, gaming and more. With the changing 21st century, technology is becoming more widely used by children. Incorporating students interests (technology use) into classroom practice can again result in greater participation levels and is 'something different' rather than always resorting to pen to paper practice. I look forward to incorporating technology into my lessons wherever possible to support student learning and participation however acknowledge the importance of pen to paper practice. Although the incorporation of technology is important, it is just as important to educate students on how to use different technologies, safe practice of technology and ensure teachers are capable of implementing technologies into lessons in productive and innovative ways.
