Assessment
Over the past four years, I have observed and had experience with a number of different assessment methods and implemented these into my lessons to monitor student learning and progress over a period of time. I use assessment to gather, analyse and reflect on evidence and student work/data in order to make informed and consistent judgements that will improve future student learning and planning.
Some of these different assessment methods/strategies include;
assessment as, of & for learningAcross all placements I have used both summative and formative assessment strategies to measure student understanding.
Summative - Evaluate student learning at the end of a unit (Project, test) Formative - Monitor student learning and provide ongoing feedback to improve teaching and learning processes (graphic organisers; concept map, summarising sentences, reflection activities) |

Below - Below are student reflections from Andrea Hillbricks '10 Minutes Tops' reflection strategies text. This reflection strategy requires students to place themselves somewhere 'On the Bus' to indicate their current understanding of a topic and where they feel they are at with their learning
